The 2013 Legislative Session officially opened on Wednesday, January 9th in grand style. Now the work begins. With the looming Budget Crisis and School Safety Issues (in light of the Newtown Tragedy) will be front and foremost…the legislators will have their work cut out for them.
This year is what is called a “long session” where, typically, a long list of bills get pushed through the system. This means we will need to be very diligent and follow closely all proposed legislation that will affect our members’ ability to successfully sell real estate in CT.
There will also be a number of bills being sponsored by real estate industry experts to proactively adddress and improve housing conditions in CT.The Legislative Committee is getting off to a quick start. Under the leadership of REALTOR Don Orsini, we will be keeping you informed and involved in the process by using the Legislative Page of the GWBR website to post pertinent information that you need to know.
Below you will find the links to the 1st round of legislative proposals to come forward. We will continue to add to this list of links and provide appropriate updates.
